Puja details

There are 12 Masik Shivaratri in a year and each month has its own significance. Shivaratri literally means the Night of Shiva. Masik Shivaratri is celebrated every month on the 14th Waning Moon (Chaturdashi) of the Krishna Paksha (Moon’s waning phase). In simple terms, every month, Shivratri falls a day before the new moon day. This day is considered an auspicious occasion for the worship of Lord Shiva. The observance of this day helps in gaining salvation and grace for a lifetime. Also known as Maas Shivaratri or Mini Shivaratri, the day symbolizes the convergence of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti. It is an ideal day to worship Lord Shiva to seek his graceful blessings. When this falls on a Tuesday, it is considered highly auspicious.
